The leader of traditional healers in Uganda, Sarah Namutebi who is popularly known as Mama Fina has expressed worry that traditional healers chased from Neighbouring Tanzania might flock to Uganda and start taking advantage of Ugandans.
This follows reports that the government of Tanzania has revoked licenses of all its traditional healers following increasing reports that they are fanning the kidnap and killing of albinos for ritual purposes. Over 40 Albinos have been killed in Tanzania with reports indicating that witchdoctors use body parts of albinos for rituals.
Mama Fina says following the suspension of traditional healers in Tanzania, there is likely to be an influx of traditional healers coming to Uganda from Tanzania.
She says it is such foreign traditional healers who come to Uganda and start bad practices like ritual murders. Uganda has recently been experiencing several cases of child kidnap and murder for ritual purposes.
Mama Fina says the police in Uganda should be on the lookout for any foreigners coming to Uganda and ensure their true identity and purpose of coming to Uganda is established. She says the police should also follow up all people who are allowed into the country to ensure they are doing what they were allowed into the country to do.
