I have been amazed by the Government of Tanzania's decision to conduct a Nationalwide poll to identify criminals involved in the cruel assasination of fellow citizens (I am taliking about the killing of Albinos). What puzzles me most is the inability of the country security force to identify these criminals (even with the availability of DNA technology!), I am a big fan of the Crime & Investigation Channel and I have seen very complex and clever criminals being easily identified and caught. In the case of the killing of albinos, the killers have been very "careless" and have in most cases left a lot of evidence trails that if properly investigated most of these criminals would have all been butchered by the hangman and hence we would all be living in peace.
The Government's decision to resort to polling is scandalous in two circumstances:
- Where has the money to fund this project being diverted from (taking into account our budget deficiencies? Who approved this expenditure? How much is this excercise going to cost? Was this the only option available? What message does this act by the Government send to these criminals?
- Why do we still pay our intelligency unit police? What disciplinally actions have been taken against those in charge of national security?
I am actually getting angry so I better stop here.
